Terms of Service

Effective Date: 10/21/25
Publisher: Tax Coda (“we,” “us,” or “our”)

By accessing or using the Tax Coda website, newsletter, emails, or related content (“Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Purpose of the Services

Tax Coda provides plain-English summaries of publicly available tax cases, IRS releases, and related information. The Services are for general informational and educational purposes only.

2. Not Tax, Legal, or Financial Advice

Nothing in the Services constitutes tax advice, legal advice, financial advice, or any form of professional guidance. The content is not a substitute for qualified professional advice.

You agree to consult with an attorney, CPA, or other licensed professional for advice on any matter discussed in the Services. Your use of the Services does not create any client relationship or professional advisory relationship.

3. No Reliance

You agree not to rely on the Services for decision-making, compliance, litigation, planning, or any professional actions. You assume full responsibility for how you use, interpret, or apply any information provided.

4. Accuracy and No Warranty

We make efforts to provide accurate and timely information. However, we do not guarantee that the information is complete, current, or free of errors. The Services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, including summaries, text, branding, design, and formatting, is owned by Tax Coda and is protected by U.S. intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or republish our content without written permission. You may share links to our posts as long as you do not alter the content or remove attribution.

6. User Accounts and Access

If you create a subscriber account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. Paid subscription access may not be shared, resold, or distributed. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel access for violations of these Terms.

7. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

Paid subscriptions are managed through the platform where you subscribed (such as Substack). Billing, auto-renewal, refunds, and cancellation policies are governed by that platform’s terms. You may cancel at any time, and your cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tax Coda is not liable for any loss, claim, injury, damages, or consequences arising from your use of or reliance on the Services.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which we are based, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction in that state.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
